Arkel Constructors was awarded the new addition to the St. Joseph’s Academy, the Student Commons. It is a multi-purpose facility primarily used as a cafeteria for the all-girls school. This 4,986-square-foot building can also be utilized for fundraising and after-school events as it is equipped with restrooms and multimedia systems such as projectors and speaker systems. The interior flooring is a custom-designed terrazzo floor. The exterior consists of glass, plaster and brick. It is cooled by two rooftop units. The new addition has covered walkways that connect the Student Commons to the rest of the school.
